I miss lala.com

I don't mean the disc trading service, nor do I mean the uploading service, but the service that they last left us with. I found it to be the best music services that had promises of new applications for both Android and Apple. With recent news of Spotify limiting their services in a week or so, I am again left to weigh my options with the cheapest and easiest way to get my music fill in. At Purdue I had my internet cut off from illegal downloads off Kazaa, when I then decided to use a new services that let all college students play free libraries... which only last for a few months. I later transferred to Edinboro where everyone got me set up with another illegal downloading of Limewire. But campus was good at eliminating those services and tried my luck with unknown 20 buck a year services that I later found out were also illegal. Rhapsody began to get some popularity and we resorted to 25 free tracks a month, yea, no that sucked! Limewire was installed and uninstalled a few times. Then I finally got a job, Rhapsoday was cool for a few months, sucked when I tried to cancel the membership (picture Peggy from Discover card commercials). Tried Zune, they gave 10 songs DRM free! Oh, the good ol' days of DRM. Tried Napster, tried eMusic, tried eMusic, god, I hated eMusic... Heard many rumors of Apple starting up their own unlimited subscription plans, year after year, and then finally when we all thought it was happening, nope, they did some crap service that I don't even feel like making the effort to search for, something about all year pass to certain singers/bands music, blah. Then Lala popped up (yea, if you haven't noticed, I don't care about my timeline). It sucked, then seemed aight, then was da bomb. As soon as Lala.com started to provide unlimited song plays for 10 cents apiece I was in lala land. I spent more money out of pocket on music then I think I ever have before. I don't think I was alone either with people joining and multiplying on the site daily. Then amazing news of an Apple buyout rolled up and down the internet. "Yay! Apple's buying one of the best music services in the world and going to ensure that it never ever goes out of business because they know how to make music cheap and affordable to all!" So, that didn't happen and then Spotify pretended to be awesome, but isn't and I'm sad about that. Damn, I should check to see if there is still music on Limewire or is there nothing but viruses and porn left?

If you have a Prize.org account you can help review my application and possibly make some money while bashing the game all at the same time! So if you are completely frustrated or play my game every half hour of the day, let everyone know why. If you don't have an account over at Prize.org, feel free to add it in the comments of this post or over on the Colors by Numbers page. Rules are simple, just make a review of the application and post it as a comment. If you make a video on youtube just post the url in the comment. Please, funny reviews do better! I will not be paying anyone myself, the only chance of money comes from Prize.org. They like to bump up free contests to paid contests if they are popular enough. Recent Call Log Paid

Here it is, my most recent addition to the Amazon Appstore. My goal is to get it into the Free App of the Day promotion, or as the cool kids call it FAD! Hopefully I don't get screwed like these folks... I've got two things going for me that these guys don't, I'm not paying monthly for servers and I'm not as good a developer as they are. What does this do for me? Well, I won't be bogged down by server issues and I don't have any better chance to promote my app than this. The popularity of the Amazon Appstore is growing and I'd like to hop on the explosion! Please Amazon, help me out!

Gamesville.com

I am utterly addicted to this shizznit. I haven't won a dime yet, but the games alone are addicting. All of them are completely free to play and give you many opportunities to win money. There is a payout every thirty days based on the number of games total that you have played during that time. You earn this whether you are winning the games or not. The payouts for this include, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100. To reach the 100 dollars it seems that you have to play 24/7 the whole month, but it is hard to say since I have only been on the site for a few days and barely a quarter of the way to 5. There is an option for $4 monthly fee which doubles your jackpots, that's neat and all but I like winning for free! There is also a section labeled cash competitions that directs you to the worldwinners.com website. Another one that I started just before trying out gamesville. Worldwinners looks fun, but requires you to pay money before you can win any money, and you have a chance of losing money. On that site you pay to play a game, if you beat your opponent you win an amount greater than you paid... I don't like my chances with that method, so I stick to gamesville. So far, I have found my favorite game to be Quick-Draw Poker. It seems to be the quickest way to get points, plus you have a chance to win a collecting jackpot. The pot raises by a buck every couple games. If you catch yourself on the site, you may just find jonbze raking in the cash! Check it out.

Home Screen Call Logs

Haven't touched them in a while, but hopefully that hasn't stopped you from being all over my apps... Just put in an update for my call log widget, opened up the choice in settings to allow for dialing instead of restricting to direct calling . Not sure if people were getting frustrated with accidentally calling people from the home screen but I was. My damn T-Mobile mytouch is so slow and crappy that the freezing was causing me to call family a little more than I wanted to... Anyway, hope you are still enjoying the app and I shall continue to improve upon it. As always, thanks for the support!

Finally, do they get it?

Pure Breeze Launcher

Check out "Pure Breeze Launcher"

Wow, I think Samsung is the first company to go the way I believe all Android cell phone makers should go. They made a skin and put it on the market. I have had many different blogs and each time I have typed on and on about how the companies should start selling skins on the market and leave their phones pure untouched vanilla stock Android. Now, it's not the best and just like the skins they force on their phones, people are not going to like the skin, but it is a start and people can choose not to buy it. Most Android cell phone companies create skins for their phones. Most buyers seem to complain about them (minus HTC users). Motorolla has probably gotten the most critizism for their damn blur, I had the original Cliq (complete headache). Thank god Google bought them, maybe their skin will only be a small "blur" in the early stages of Android. Something we all can forget. Now that Samsung has posted their "skin" on the market, maybe it will be one less forced skin that we will not have to deal with anymore. Those that want it can give Sammy some extra cash for their burden. I don't care how much the skins suck, I probably won't ever use them. Every time I try one I delete them within a few days. I want more options of phones. Yea, there are many Android phones out there but I want stock and options for those seem to be shrinking. Come on companies, you're paying too much to not realize Android users prefer stock or HTC's sense, everyone else quit it!

GO Launcher EX

GO Launcher EX

Check out "GO Launcher EX"

Wow, talk about impressive! This home screen replacement app is just simply amazing. I haven't seen any others as EXtensive. Between scrolling twitter and re-sizable widgets, it's everything that Motoblur wanted to be. I'm sure people would be willing to pay good money for this bad boy, but they actually have it free on the market. Go check it out, install it, play with it, do what you will, and enjoy!

My Amazon Entry

I've finally got my first application posted to the Amazon App store. I went with the Recent Call Log first not only because it was the easiest of my apps to fit into Amazon's strict limits but also because it is by far my most popular app. Eventually, I plan on adding the paid version and also getting my two Colors by Numbers application posted. You hear all the complaints of developers with the iphone and amazon app stores, but you don't really feel the pain until you attempt yourself. I'm so used to throwing up an update on any of my applications whenever I want at any time of the night. I am often updating them late at night. Posted the this app to Amazon late on Friday and it probably wasn't touched all weekend. Review probably started Monday and didn't end till today. Yikes... oh, well. I got it up and that's all that matters. Hopefully, I can post all of my apps to Amazon and I will as long as the profit out weighs the 100 bucks a year it costs to be an Amazon developer. Either way, for now I have to options for getting my recent call log. Enjoy!

Frogger

If you aren't a real young buck, you probably are pretty familiar with this game. It's one of the classics and today it is the Amazon App of the Day. It is pretty much exactly how I remember the game, and this is probably why it is getting some low scores. I haven't looked into why the ratings are so low, but I'm assuming that either young kids that don't understand why this is a game or older folks wishing there were some new features are unhappy with the replica game of old. I didn't play many levels of the game because I myself seem to find this type of game tedious and haven't really had the desire to play. It's too bad. During the braces portion of my life I spent many afternoons in the orthodontist office playing the arcade version of this very game. Having only a SNES at the time, I was excited to get my hands on any game I could play, they were all fun and exciting. Today, it seems the gaming world expects a lot more. I have my own game that seems to be suffering from the same issue. Years ago my game may have peeked many people's interest and kept waiting patrons busy, but today it seems the individuals that download my game scoff and curse my name that they even wasted their time with it. The game may bring in the players that reminisce of older simpler times, but I have a feeling that without a new fresh design on the game it won't attract too many young players to the mix. At least everyone can give it a try for free today!

Not Call Log - Paid

This is not a very extensive application, but it is greatly usefully. After calls it sends the phone either back to what you were working on or to something else you choose to have it send. For example, I have my phone go to the home screen after hanging up. There are many different options depending on whether you made the call or it was an incoming call.  There is also a free version available, but hey a dollar ain't much to support a great developer.
